What does it mean on the Library catalogue if an item is on the waiting list?
Answer
An item is placed on the waiting list if that item is out on loan and has been requested by another student or staff member. The item will then be placed on hold, and is indicated as such on the Library Catalogue under STATUS. The number of holds, or clients waiting for the item, will also be indicated. The STATUS of an item can also be reflected as ON HOLDSHELF, which means the item has been returned and is about to be sent to the next Library user in the queue.
If you request an item that is on hold, expect a delay before it can be delivered to you.
Remember that even if you have to return an item on request of the Library, you can always request it again at a later stage.
