Are there items students are not allowed to borrow or take out?

This article explains which Library items students are not allowed to borrow

Answer

Unfortunately, there is some library material that may not be borrowed or take out by students.

However, such items may be consulted in the Library.

Examples of such items include:

  • reference works (e.g.encyclopaedias, dictionaries, yearbooks, law reports)
  • journals
  • archival material
  • items in special collections
  • art colour slides

Photocopies of publications that may not be borrowed may be obtained on request and in keeping with the limits laid down by South African copyright law.
